HANCOCK COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Hancock Chamber Members Recognized By County And State Officials & Leaders

Hancock County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.

In recognition of the work supported by members of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, elected officials and business leaders from throughout Hancock County are joining with Governor Phil Bryant to proclaim the third week in October as Chamber of Commerce Week in Mississippi, Hancock County, Bay St. Louis, Diamondhead, Kiln and Waveland.

The third Wednesday in October is National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day. The Bay St. Louis Rotary, founder of the Hancock Chamber in 1925, will recognize members of the Chamber during the weekly luncheon on Wednesday, October 17th at noon at the Bay Waveland Yacht Club.

Members of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce will celebrate by attending a number of other meetings and events throughout the week. Proclamations to recognize the work of the Chamber will be presented during the following meetings:

Monday, October 15th at 9am – Hancock County Board of Supervisors, County Annex

Tuesday, October 16th at 6pm – Bay St. Louis City Council Chambers

Tuesday, October 16th at 6pm – Diamondhead City Hall

Wednesday, October 17th at noon – Bay St. Louis Rotary Luncheon, Bay Waveland Yacht Club

Wednesday, October 17th at 6pm – Waveland City Hall

The week of recognition will continue with the Hancock Chamber After Hours event at the Silver Slipper Casino Hotel on Thursday, October 18th from 5-7pm in the Blue Bayou Bar and Restaurant. The week will culminate with a morning meeting of the Hancock Chamber Greenways & Byways Committee on Friday, October 19th at 8:30am at the Leo Seal Center at Hancock Whitney, Waveland. Paul Gavin, Executive Director of Gulf Regional Planning Commission, will present information on the Future of Transportation, the number one issue facing the state today.

The business community, represented through the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, has been a driving force in fostering enhanced educational opportunities, infrastructure improvements, leadership development, the creation of jobs, and a positive vision of the future. Chamber members have also sought to achieve successful results for our county and Coast region in a cooperative spirit with other organizations.

The Hancock Chamber of Commerce and their 1,200 member representatives and 10,000 employees provide citizens with a strong business environment that increases employment, retail trade and commerce, and industrial growth to make Hancock County a better place to live and work.
