Raymond Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.
Porter House, circa 1830 & 1850. Located at 233 North Oak Street.
A planter's cottage, the ell of the house was built in the 1830's. The Greek Revival main section was built in the 1850's and occupied by the George Porter family from 1860 to 1913. Both sections were moved from the original housesite southeast of Raymond and restored, winning a 2006 Mississippi Heritage Trust Award of Excellence for Historic Preservation.
