Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
This is hazardous, responsible work; incumbent controls and extinguishes fires, protects life and property and maintains equipment as an employee of the City of Greenwood. Work involves the study of manuals and attending classes daily on proper procedures to extinguish fires. Responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls. Makes forced entries and rescues persons or assists in rescue operations as directed during fires or other emergencies. Performs assigned duties in maintaining equipment, buildings, and grounds, Administers emergency first aid measures and assist in various minor City duties. Incumbent is supervised be a Captain. This position is classified as “Non-Exempt” under FLSA.
Applications will be accepted in the Office of Human Resources, located in the Greenwood City Hall, 101 W Church Street, Greenwood Ms. 8am-5pm; Monday - Friday.
