Graduates earn 411 degrees from Mississippi Valley State University


About 18.5 percent of the 411 degrees and certificates handed out by Mississippi Valley State University in 2017-18 were to students in public administration and social service professions programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Bena conferred 42 master's degrees and 34 bachelor's degrees in public administration and social service professions programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business administration and management. Data shows the school gave out 43 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management, followed by 34 bachelor's degrees in social work and 32 master's degrees in general human services.

The university enrolled 2,385 students for 2017-18, including 1,977 in undergraduate programs and 408 in graduate programs.
