Cost of college went up for all students at Mississippi Valley State University


Tuition and fees rose 2 percent for 2018-19 at Mississippi Valley State University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Mississippi students paid $6,550 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $128 more than the $6,422 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 389 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.2 million and 375 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,285), 1,639 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.4 million, and 1,572 students took out $12.8 million in federal student loans.
