NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY 8, 2024 – Japan Airlines began its inaugural route for the Airbus A350-1000 connecting Tokyo Haneda to New York JFK on January 24, 2024. Flying Food Group’s JFK team had the privilege of catering the in-flight meals for this new aircraft’s 13-hour flight.

“This is a stunning new aircraft and we at Flying Food Group are proud to have played an active part in this important Japan Airlines milestone,” a representative from Flying Food Group said. Japan Airlines has been a customer of Flying Food Group for 22 years.

The entire JFK team was mobilized on the January 24 flight, including the account manager and flight supervisor who worked for many weeks in preparation for the important flight. The team also had support from the Japan Airlines team coming from Tokyo.

Japan Airlines plans to replace its current Boeing 777-300ERs with 13 A350-1000s, offering improved fuel efficiency, reduced cabin noise, and a commitment to sustainable aviation fuel. The A350-1000 will operate as a daily service to New York once the airline receives its second aircraft.

The new aircraft offers a higher standard for international travel and multiple added features to elevate the comfort of its passengers, according to the company’s website. Customers can look forward to cabin interiors that feature new seating in every class, personalized inflight services, and an overall quieter ride.

Japan Airlines is headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo and serves as the flag carrier of Japan. Its main hubs are Tokyo's Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport, as well as Osaka's Kansai International Airport and Itami Airport. The airline operates international and domestic passenger and cargo services to 220 destinations in 35 countries worldwide.
